For the Kids

In 1999 a Petting Zoo was started and has proved to be very popular. There is just something about animals and children. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

At 1:00 PM everyday there is a Little Farmers Tractor Pull held behind the Blacksmith's Shop. Kids are cheered on as they pedal a toy tractor pulling a real weight transfer machine. Excitement runs high as Ron Bancroft announces the activity over a P.A. system and give constant encouragement like, "COME ON, YOU CAN DO IT".

Every child leaves a winner.

At Noon everyday, at the same location as the Kids Tractor Pull, there is a Tractor Slow Race. The equipment of yesteryears was certainly not known for there speed. The idea of the race is to prove who has the lowest gearing in the drive train, and the smoothest and slowest running engine. But, more often than not, it becomes a competition between the operators and who has the smoothest slip on the clutch. The rules are simple, once the start is given, the wheels can not stop moving. The winner is clearly out in BACK!
